Today the 9/11 Memorial marks the 19th anniversary of the end of the rescue and recovery period at Ground Zero. At 9:30 a.m. they held a special commemorative moment on the 9/11 Memorial Glade to honor all the rescue, recovery and relief workers and those who are sick or have died from 9/11-related illnesses.

Another year at Cipriani's downtown for the 9/11 Museum and Memorial Dinner. It was awesome to capture Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson.

Covering Catastrophe: Reporting on 9/11

On 9/11, local journalists suddenly found themselves on the front lines, covering a catastrophe with global and historical significance. NY1 anchor Kristen Shaughnessy, New York Times correspondent and CNN analyst Maggie Haberman, and Associated Press reporter Deepti Hajela discuss the challenges of reporting on the 2001 attacks and how 9/11 changed the way events linked to terror are reported.

Financial District

I'd never managed to visit the World Trade Center Oculus, and have seen so many thousands of instagram photos that I thought I knew the space. It is much much much more impressive in real life than any photo can do it justice.

The gridded window facade of the 9/11 museum and memorial is always an impressive view.
